Chai Cookies (India)

Tea infused dough with a little kick of spices (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper), rolled in sugar. And crack! The magic happened in the oven and it got its earthquake look. Recipe adapted from Dirty Chai Earthquake cookies from NYT cooking.

There are so many spiced Christmas cookies, almost all of them from Europe. So, I'm taking you to "travel" to a country that bursts with flavours of spices, India.
The first time I had chai was from Starbucks, it didn't taste anywhere close to a real chai and I didn't like it. Then my Indian friend brought a thermos of it to work, now it's my winter ritual.

ps. Chai translates to tea. So, I've been saying "tea tea" for the longest time?!
